Dude read a thread or 2...one I just looked at had a rough estimate of what batteries go for..or call your yard for the exact price per lb

I think it's about .27 per pound by me for car batteries, but they don't take household batteries.

Ive been reading threads for awhile now and it seems easier to just ask. I am new to forums in general and still trying to find my way around. Thanks for the answer thought
If you are new to forums it take some time to get used to how they operate and all are a little different.
If you are interested in making money and learning more about scrapping take the time to read the old threads. Most of us like it when new members take the time to do this. You will find most of your quetions have been answered many times.
It might be easier to ask but it will prove to be far more educational if you take the time to study. Mike.

The yard I go to was paying .27 cents per pound but then I found a different yard that pays 10.00 for each car battery and 4.00 for a lawn and garden/jump pack battery. No one by me will even talk about buying household batteries.

here in southern ohio prices are right about the same as mattinthehat stated above.if your area is like mine dont take them to any junk yard.around here junkyards pay 3 to 6 dollars each. we also have two independants who buy cores to re sell to a bigger core buyer and a place called the battery terminal they will pay between 10 and 13 for car and truck batteries at either of the core buyers or the battery terminal.when i get the heavy equipment batteries,they are sometimes called double batteries i always take them to the battery terminal because they will recondition some of the higher dollar batteries there.i have been paid up to 45 dollars befor for a few large battteries i got that came out of yukes.

Household batteries are shred for me. Car batteries are worth $10-$13. I test them because if they are good they go on my dump trailers or for my winches on my trailer
