Dell Servers Auction

Curious to see what these might be worth. It is roughly a 2+ hour drive from me.

I know they are worth a bit, especially in working condition, but I don't have the knowledge to know what a good market value would be.

From what Ive seen on ebay completed auctions. And seeing them sell at auction localy. they go for between 100 to 300 each. Just like a home tower it all depends on what is in them.

Then, I will take the obvious clue that they are worth more (especially in working condition) then scrap.

Well, might as well throw a bid in. Then will have to find a buyer for it lol.

your welcome. Start using ebay completed auction searches george. They will tell you going rates for alot of things.

Yeah, I have been doing ebay periodically. I know a lot of what comes from any PC generally can be sold on ebay.

I am still learning little by little on what to sell on ebay.com, and what to send to people like ewasted, computerscrapper, easyrecycle, etc.

Since no one has talked about these yet, or at least not that I have seen, just wanted to see if they were resellable beyond scrap prices.

Unless they were sold local, I imagine they be a real pain in the butt to ship, but at $300 a piece, worth it!

That will tell you if there is a market out there. Wherever out there is. I have often looked something up on ebay to see what they are going for then put said item on CL first to avoid fees. Using ebays completed listings search is just as imoprtant to reselling stuff as this forums search feature is before asking the same questions over and over. Not saying this is what your doing gerorge just generalizing here.

I definitely get what you are saying PTS. What I mean't was, that I was asking about these, as I didn't know if there would be any real market for these as used working condition, beyond scrap value.

Like you mentioned, I should have thought about ebay, but as someone who has never used them for anything, I have to keep reminding myself that it can be a useful too, for finding out what a going rate is (computers or other wise).

I do like your idea, of checking ebay, getting a price idea, and then hitting craigslist first.

I'll use ebay completed then google will sometimes come up with sale items also on other sites. Between the two or three I've got a good idea of a starting price.

I have used google to find out what some items are selling for as well. Although, unlike ebay, I just see what they are trying to sell it for.

I can't complain, though; I sell a lot of stuff I get for free and the money has paid many a bill and bought many groceries in the past six months or so. Have been an eBayer since 1999, but really ramped up the regular sales more recently.

Congrats on taking control of your financials. Like I just mentioned in another thread, it is not always happy times, and I am sure you can agree, but nothing beats it.

Where do you get most of the stuff you sell? Just by scrapper, or do you do junk cleanouts too?
