If you want a quick quiet way to break Safety glass, use something ceramic to smash the glass.
The ceramic insulator broken off a sparkplug will do.
I had heard about this idea & knowing a bit about safety glass ( A friend used to operate the kiln they use to make commercial sheet safety glass ) I tried it out on a old car we were taking to the scrapyard.
I simply hiffed a chunk of ceramic insulator at the side window and it went 'Piff' & turned crazed, with a hole in it where the insulator went thru.
Then the crazed glass fell out.
Ceramic from a broken coffee cup should do, it's the sharp edge that needs to hit the glass to break it.
It chips the outer 'Under stress layer's of the glass, this weakens it there, which puts stress in other places & suddenly it's stressed thruout the pane. & Boom. It's gone.
Wear safety glasses always when doing any shifting or work around safety glass. This is important.
Hopefully this info helps & I hope it's used in the right way & there's the odd chance that in a emergency it might save somebody from some hurt.
