    Scrap Metal Dump

A place I was at a couple years back and it looks like the pile has grown. Photo taken in 2010 in United States of America (c)

The sad thing is that it's right by the water, any oil, antifreeze, gas, etc goes right into the water. Wonderful.

hey that is an environmental nightmare, but the photo is excellent! nice juxtaposition of arctic beauty with the detritus of civilization! 4th car from bottom left (2nd over from the VW beetle carcass), nose into the baby blue truck, looks like a '76 Ford Granada coupe. had a couple of those in my day. on the other side of the baby blue truck is a white ford bronco, maybe that was OJ's ride? The washing machine on the drivers side of the rusted out Suburban hulk appears to be rather clean. And it looks like there's a jet engine in there.

Ever been out to Adak? Used to be a Naval Air Facility with 6,000 people and some advanced underwater weapons and now it's 120 people and 3,000 caribou.
It's at least 1200 miles to the nearest scrap yard. A B 17 hangar loaded with kitchen appliances
