- First craiglist score
Ok, so I'm new to the scrapping world, and I have to say this is by far the best resource for info that I've found. With so many members who are willing to help out, and have experience, I plan on continuing my research on here and learning as much as possible. So I posted an ad on craigslist, for my local area, and got my first hit today. I took a different route with my ad, instead of asking for "scrap", I wrote a small paragraph about how I recycle old electronics and that nothing goes to the landfill. I figured the green approach would be far more effective then posting "I will haul away all your unwanted appliances for free", like some people in my area have done. Anyways, I sent her an email back, and am waiting to hear back with what she has. It might not be much, but i'm going to hand her a couple business cards I've made up and see what comes of it. I know it might not be much, but I was pleased to see that my approach worked. By the way, I do plan on recycling everything I get, from plastic to CRT's. I think it will pay off in the long run, as more people are looking for a green alternative.
