locksmiths?

I have heard that you can get brass key shavings,old doorknobs,and keys? Is this true?

Yes, they have that, but they also know they can turn it in for $$$'s.

i once got some stuff from a lock shop going out of buisness,, a 5 gallon bucket half full of brass keys, when i went to scrap yard they wanted to know every thing,,when and where i got it, from whom,,phone number of locksmith, a 100 questions,,since i dint even know his name they told me to bring it back when i had all the info,, well that wasent going to happen, so i just add a dozen of so keys to my brass bucket,and take them in with that,when i do a scrap run, still have some keys left after 2 years,, oh well , get my money out of it ,, just takes longer..

People doing 'Steam punk' stuff will buy keys, the older the better. Anything else like that too.
Old gauges, clocks, chain, glasses, makers plaques etc.
