    scored a pizza restaraunt

a few days ago guys I made contact with the pizza restaurant down the street from me . I asked them if I could give them a garbage can with my business card on it and asked them if they could throw there metal cans in them . The manager said sure and said I could put it by the dumpster. the next day or so I went to check it out and it was empty, I was puzzled. one of the cooks saw me and came out and talked to me . he said that he didn't know about the garbage can and what I was doing but he said from here on in he and his guys would throw them in there. that was last week and Ive gotten some since then . I went this morning and while I was back there the cook drove in , he was the first one there . he said that they've been busy and haven't been able to always throw them in the dumpster, but he said im more then welcome to come by anytime and dig threw the dumpster for cans anytime . I was like this guy is the man . hes pretty chill guy. I even offered to buy him and his guys a case of beer every now and then , he said don't worry about it. you can come by anytime that's stuff trash your more then welcome to it. its weird because they don't have an single recycling dumpster behind this strip.

I use to work at Wendy's and they'd go through a lot of cans. If someone had wanted those cans, I doubt any of the employees would have set them aside.

Btw, Wendy's was before I really knew about scrap...

I work at a steak house and we have all sorts of cans that the salad bar throughs out, when ever I see a bunch on top of their trash can when I'm collecting trash, I take em out and throw them in a trash bag and since I park my truck right out side the door, I just throw em right in the back. Easy shred...

I know this may be a little difficult to answer, but how much steel are we talking about?
You can make money 2 ways.
    1 - Do what others won't.

I think there is money to be made here. Keep going back and let the workers know whats going on. Put up a bigger sign. Let them know you take all metal / electronics. You may get a few monster drinks mixed in with the #10 cans! Can you place the bin by where they take smoke breaks? If so everyone will be just taking out cans (and get a quick smoke while they are there!).

I weighed the cans it takes 2 steel cans to make a pound. I get all the aluminum cans and pans. it adds up eventually.

50 pounds a week is 100 # 10 cans. I am sure they do at least that every week if not more. $4.00 a week is $208.00 a year. Enough for 16 pizzas!
