I was using an angle grinder with a cutoff blade to open compressors and each took about 10 minutes of cutting to open them up.
After last haul of copper I invested in a new cutting torch for $129.00 from Northern Tool. I had the tanks already. It took about a minute to cut one open.
Inside there are four bolts holding the motor core in place. I have a cordless impact wrench that zips them out fast like. The core then lifts right out.
Easy money!
