I called the number in the ad just to inquire about it but got no answer so i didn't bother to leave a message but it seems like it could be a pretty good hustle.

Paranoid? He can get the same information from your plate #, albeit with a bit more work involved.
Don't blame him for wanting to cover his hide. Scammed out of 15,000 lbs? Dang.

Bummer the ad has been taken down.

Sounded like a good deal to me.
George you have several businesses, your address is public record.
Don't be so careful that you cost yourself money!
Seems like a reasonable ad.
Plenty of people have free firewood too. I love working the firewood.
Chainsaw(s) , hydraulic log-splitter (horizontal one is fun,fun,fun)...
But it has to be "seasoned" for about six monthes where I live, and my buddy with the land and equipment thinks it's
ONLY worthwhile IF a tree place will drop them directly at his property
...NO wood this year
Check out "Best-ofs" on CL ...first time I saw them I ROFL'd cause I didn't know what it was.
One ad was for somebody to "haul chickens" (my favorite) , another was "sorry I puked in your purse" about a guy who got mad at a woman in the bar, so his (sicko@SS) puked in her purse then zipped it back up...Another ad for a "porn laptop" that was "only used for porn, had plenty of links but lots of viruses...sick/ Funny stuff.
I called and left a message, but never heard back, I guess they got someone to do it, but I do know of these women and they would not want the information to do harm....I believe them when they stated that it is because they where scammed. The person should be ashamed of doing that to those women.....and should be nominated for a good old fashion ass whooping.
Might have been worthwhile, the "drum" looked more like a large fuel tank or silo.will help load, drum weights about 4,800pds not including odds and ends
