New place to look for cans

Just on a whim while driving around I took a peek into the trash cans at the self serve car wash place and found about 30 cans in all (mostly beer cans), a stainless steel coffee mug, and a mini shop vac. Not a big haul but it may be worth a quick drive through, especially during springtime.

i understand scrap is scrap and all.but i dont think i could bring myself to dig stuff out of garbage

Focker, I have a reacher, so I don't have to touch the garbage. If I do find a "goodie" that's too heavy for the reacher, I wear gloves. You're missing a lot of good stuff.

I Drive down frontage roads(the roads along the expressways) Always find cans. Mostly beer cans of corse. And if ya feel adventureish, walk in the woods along a creek or river for flood garbage and you can score cans and more. Ive found alum siding and a truck hood before. look like a idoit commin out of the woods. people stare, I stop and stare back.

Yeah i understand that but.To me it's nasty to dig in garbage for a few cans for a few cents.
No different than riding around getting in peoples trash on garbage night.I dont see how u all do that.

I go in only if it's something like a computer tower !! Diving is just a figure of speech. (for most of us that is)

there where some tornado's around louisville today but not by where i live.The sirens where going off for like a hour.

As for being skeered of trash, IF one is scared of trash then scrapping (regular scrapping) probably isn't for them.IMO.

Though "going in somebody's trash can" :I doubt ANYBODY here does that besides removing an occasional piece of aluminum ,etc. sticking out of a recycle bin, or maybe taking pots and pans out of a moving box stuffed full of paper on the curb.
...Construction dumpsters usually have no human garbage waste, and even when they do it's bagged up, and obvious to avoid.

Biggest thing I avoid is dumped mattresses and sofas due to a resurge of "bed-bugs".
Nasty things that live in textiles up to one year without food, nocturnal, can travel up to 100 feet, get on pets or feed on mice, etc. if they need...I don't even like picking up bed-rails although I do, since they're heavy.

Anyway My BEST place for cans is behind a latino bar, the dumpster is full of bottles and mostly red bull cans,
SOOO many I'd like to talk to the owner about a deal to leave a recycle bin .
