Ironpirate, the ballasts I got looked like the bottom ones in the picture. Each ballast weighed 17 pounds and yielded five pounds of copper.

The yard looked it over and will go as #2 copper.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

The pics I put are flouro ballasts HID ballasts are a lot bigger.

The flouro ballasts return about 100 gms Copper each, and a lot of clip...

    Question(s)

I am new to the forum and I need help with ballasts to include the non-PCB 4' florescent to the MH/HPS type. My friend owns a lighting retrofit company and has contracts both large and small across the US. I am needing the name of an individual or company who would be able to collect/scrap the items.
This could be lucritive for all involved. The major roadblock is that the jobs are nationwide and I am not able to go to each jobsite to scrap the material.

    Any info would be appreciated.

I'd be interested in the non-PCB ones in Maine. You're likely to get a better response on here if you start a new thread in the "Scrap Metal Spots" section. People don't all read old posts.
