    Question Who do you contact?

My buddy says where he works they toss out old revisions of circuit boards. He has asked about having them donate to local tech schools, asked about grabbing them himself, even pitched how it would save the company $ in that they pay per ton for the garbage removal. Who would be the best bet to contact to get some of these? I am guessing someone in accounting would like to look good as getting an additional source of revenue for the place (I would buy them from the place). The facilities guy would not be the right one, as he would have to run it by someone higher up. The "C" people (CEO, COO, etc) would not get directly involved.
So who do you folks think would be the best bet to help that company unload all those boards they toss out? (BTW, the compactor is locked and attached internally. No diving possible plus illegal).
    Thanks
    JPete

Start with the person who makes the Trash hauling decision. Can you set up a separate dumpster for circuit boards? Pitch it from an environmental angle, and cost savings benefit. Let them know that you'll be happy to provide a framable certificate thanking them for their environmentally conscience decision to recycle this "Hazardous waste"

Also provide any commercial references you can. That'll help you sell yourself!

It could be that they don't want any of them to possibly fall into the hands of their competition.
