    Small trucking companies

I just signed on to the forum today but I have been reading all the posts I could for the past month. I wanted to share where I get most of my metal from. I have been in trucking for 30 years and most companies that have their own mechanics have a PM (preventive maintenance) program for their tractor and trailers. At our location we average 1 to 2 tons of hubs, wheels, brake chambers etc. scrap per month. Never had anyone come by looking for metal. Check on logging companies, dump truck companies, freight companies, there are thousands of them. Good luck!

Not bad. I went by a local auto body repair shop near here about 2 months back, and they had easily 5,000 lbs of scrap ready to go, but unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough as the President/Owner decided that very morning, that they would scrap it themselves, due to not having anyone reliable to come and pick it up.
