    auto a/c compressors

Just a quick question. Are they worth trying to take apart and seperate or just sell as aluminum breakage. Put one on the bench this morning at looked at it hit it witrh a hammer a couple times but nothing fell out.

I have been looking for a mkt for AC compressors for some time and haven't had any luck to sell as whole!...Personally, the time and labor required to take them apart isn't worth it; for the small amount of non ferrous material inside, that is disassembling on large quantity scale.

Core buyers are the way to go on auto AC compressors.

Some yards will have a special price per pound on AC compressors which is much better than breakage prices. It might be worth your time to call around to the different yards in your area to see if they do.

But to answer your question, it is not worth the time it takes to strip one down.

Core buyer. I only get $3 for mine. Still way better than the time to strip it.
