I've been taking apart a load of LCD Screens that aren't worth, in my opinion, trying to fix. They are 15 inch and smaller with major scratches and spots in the screens. In each screen, there is a narrow board that has gold plated connections and a number of ribbons. Each of these ribbons have a single piece of shiny metal in the center. Depending on the screen size (because I've noticed this same piece on the Cell Phone screen ribbons) the piece of metal is approximately 3/16 wide, 1/16th thick and about 1 inch in length. Very Shiny. Can anyone tell me what this metal is and if it's worth collecting? I've posted a couple of pics. The second pic doesn't show the shine very well but each of the shorter ribbons has one of these pieces of metal.
