    how di I look up a cpu

    have a lot of xenon cpus from servers cant figgure how to look them up. tried goodling several different combinations of #

    its usually a model number like e5310 you are looking for on them, if you find that its all you need for an internet search, i built an 8 core system 5 years ago by using 2 e5310 quad core xeons on a dual skt 771 board, to this day intels home cpus have not been able to match what a pair of xeon quads is capable of

    Its a stand alone number usually mixed in with all the printing on the top of the cpu. Do you have any idea what socket those xeons are, or could you post pics? I am sure there are many of us here that can identify them.

    The whole list!
    The ones I have are marked on the pin side of the processor "1900/1M/400/1.475V" The second line reads "SL6H2".
    The others are marked "2800DP/512L2/400/1.5V" and "SL6M7" or "2800DP/512/533/1.50V" and "SL73N"
    The second line will tell you the stepping specs, the first is its speed,# of core, cache, bus speed, and operating voltage.
