Came across a few UPS batteries shipped straight from APC a number of years ago, but still in the box and never used. I know I can test them but was wondering what you guys thought the life expectancy would be. I wouldnt want to sell them in a UPS then have the thing die within a short period of time. Suggestions?

use them to power intesting things created from scrap, maybe even a leverite detector.

I bought a few old batteries that were never used, that ended up being a very good buy. They were large silver oxide batteries. If anyone runs across something like that, you hit a jackpot. It's also fairly straightforward to refine.

These are just the lead acid batteries, but I dont know if they will hold a charge after sitting in boxes for a number of years.
