Money in dryers - totals for 2012

Like many other scrappers here, I remove the drums out of dryers to see if any change has fallen out and ended up in the bottom. At the beginning of 2012 I just said for the heck of it I am going to keep all my change & stuff I find separate and tally it at the end of the year. Here are my totals:

    Dollar bill - 1
    Quarters - 17
    Dimes - 23
    Nickels - 10
    Cents - 123
    Others:
    1 silver necklace
    1 small gold filled ring

$9.28 in change, I will take it. Some dryers did not have anything, some only 1 or 2 coins, a couple had over a dozen. You never know what you will find. Still looking for that elusive solid 10K or 14K ring or necklace. Maybe someday...........

The only change I found this year was about 1.50 from a few washers. I don't know the real total because the faces of the coins were so badly corroded it was hard to tell what coin it was. (Mainly between pennies and dimes.) Nice find on the jewelry, I haven't found anything like that yet. BTW, has anyone found where the vanishing socks go?

I helped a friend of muine scrap some commercial dryers last year, averaged $3-4 each, but part of that is because one had a $10 bill in it

It is funny how you can put a pair in to dry and only one comes out,,, the other one must fall thru that black hole everyone talks about.

I hate it when that happens! I guess the drum spins so fast it creates a vortex that changes into a hungry black hole that eats the sock. The motors are too powerful on those things!
