I am looking for just a couple gaylords to ship my E-scrap and cheapest i could find them was about $125 for 5. $95 was shipping. Does anyone have any ideas where I could get a few gaylords without shipping them half way across the country?

Call your local scrapyard. We sell used Gaylord's for $10 ea.
Some grocery stores throw them out and will save them for you. pick your time to ask like pumpkin or watermelon seasons.

I buy Tantalum Capacitors and offer other services. Check out my thread for more info.

thanks for the replies. I have checked several local businesses for them with no luck, but will ask at the scrapyard tomorrow.
I have had good luck getting them at transfer stations $10-$20 ea
Try Uline
ULINE - Shipping Boxes, Shipping Supplies, Packaging Materials, Packing Supplies they are nation wide and you can get pretty much any thing there.
The local terminal in Jacksonville does not have a way to lift pallets off a pick up truck. I will have to place a pallet on the dock and "build" the pallet ontop of it with smaller boxes and then wrap it with plastic. I find that Craig's list and Cherry Point and Legeune yards sales both have free boxes from Marines who have been transferred in. Perhaps another way to skin a cat.
Also how are you going to lift the full gaylords onto the shippers truck? Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
good answers thanks everyone...and good questions Miked. I have a couple ideas for that. Either putting it together in the truck bed or putting it together there if the loading dock isnt the same height as the truck bed. In my perfect world someone with a pallet jack and lift gate would pick up from my house, but I aint betting on that one.
That can happen if you arrange it with your buyer. I have used such a service with my last shipment to Ewasted. There is an additional charges for the "tail gate" pick up and a restricted area pick up. As I recall the tail gate pick up can cost an additional $100 so take the time to work with your buyer on getting the best deal. Mike.
yrc has a terminal in Jacksonville, but i think that is the one that Miked says he has to build his pallets at. If I remember correctly it was a truck bed and loading dock height issue for him.
