I have this one which is an earlier version.

It's good for stripping the outer casing on larger diameter stuff. You have to use an allen wrench to adjust the cutter. Not good for smaller wire as the rollers only go in and up so far. You also have to manually tug on the wire going thru which can be a bear with certain types of insulation.

I also have one similar to this one:

Adjusts for different diameters with the turn of the top wheel. Can be used manually or hooked up to a drill. Not good for real large diameter wire but excells at most stuff I come across. It's my go to stripper.
If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....

That is the one we use, one of my buddies that is a scrapper and me went in on it to cut the cost in half. We use it about twice a year. I put all the large guage wire off to the side. The smaller stuff just goes as #2 insulated. That stripper works fine but some times you need to run the wire back and forth a couple times thru it to get it so its easily stripable. Im sure there are better ones out there but at that price its a good unit.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE

    I'd get a small-scale stripper.

Well before you go and buy the wire stripper first think of this, any thing that you come across that you are buying or selling you need to have the weight ,if you only did wire then its a no brainer but ,i like knowing what my ram, and cpu weigh before i ship them i also buy by the weight so the wire striper is a nice thing to have i think you will make the money for the striper from the scale just my two cents..

I suggest you to buy a scale first than buy wire strippers. This will save your time and money. Weighing scale would help you to buy scraps. Normal decent scale price starts from $25 and wire stripper is around $60.

I ended up buying the stripper and the scale recommended above and they have changed my outlook on a lot of things. I am now much more willing to strip smaller gauge wire and have a much better handle on what is worth my time and what is not. I can't believe I waited so long, it's great feeling like I am being more productive with my time. Next trip to the yard I am going to compare numbers and see for sure, but I think I have made my money back already.

    Thanks for all the tips!

Ebay is best platform to buy quality scales. Lots of scale brands are offering their quality scales.
