    Copper honey holes

So what have you found to be your best source to find copper in any form? Do you get it from businesses, dumpsters, friends and family? I have a pretty good source from my job, but am always looking to broaden my horizons and look in new places.

Fishermen and scrappers have one thing in common, we never tell where our honey holes are.

If it uses electricity, usually it has copper. Start taking things apart.

Im more asking if you get it from businesses or just what you find on the curb. Not asking for specific spots. Just curious. What kind of businesses give out the most copper?

I know of no business that " gives" you anything even the free stuff you have to work at getting. By working i mean developing a relationship with someone that may be a source for any type of scrap. If you think that you are going to walk into a business and ask for free copper I have a bridge to sell you very cheap.

I get most of my stuff from auctions. It's often as much work as curb shopping. I have to follow 20-30 different online auctions at a time and know what ends on what day at what time. I buy what ever has value and is dirt cheap. Today I picked up 18 towers for 50.00. Yesterday I picked up 2 complete servers and a network switch for 15.00. I also find good deals on wire, telecom, motors, appliances, ect.. all for a few dollars.

I get a bunch from work along with brass. I find that when someone cuts the pipes off of something they often don't cut flush, I grab what they missed it may be small but it all adds up. I also get a decent amount from dumpsters and CRTs.

Like said above, if its electronic, it has copper in it. Dumpsters are my biggest source. I have been known to sscrounge construction sites for end cuts. Every little bit adds up

I get a lot of mine from refrigerators. Tvs, and anything electrical. I love the tvs though, the wire around the screen usually tends to be the best. I try to store up my copper for the best price. I know it takes a little time, but I can usually come up with a pretty good amount just from tvs.
