Average Price of a Stove after Dismantled

So last night I had a stove to break down and I figured I would tread it like a case study of sorts. Here is what I did.

Complete Dis assembly in less than 1 Hour. Cost $20

Stove Weight Complete #130 * .10 = $13.00

Steel Content #81 * .10 = $8.10

Tempered Glass #36 * .? = ?

Insulation/Trash #8 * -.0 = 0

Copper #1 #1 * 3.00 = $3.00

Copper Motors #1 * .30 = .30

Aluminum High Recover (fan) #1 *.30 = .30

Burner Elements #2 * .25 = .50

The Good News. Its not worth tearing down to this extent!

My plan for stoves. Assume most of the weight is steel except for any copper wires that are 10 minutes or under for recovery.

Scrap the Rest.

$15 Ea.

I always leave the insulation in them, no use to go that far to take them apart.

I was interested in getting that motor out and thought I could re purpose the shell as a drain or sink type of tub. And it was nessisary to see how much trash waste was in it for the purposes of quality.

Should be a small aluminum tube on the back of gas stoves. 2 easy snips while you're cutting the cord. Fill the stoves with smaller shred. Done. Thanks for the leg work though. Always good to know breakdown prices.

I did find that, thats my alum. breakage piece under a lb.

I did however forget to mention a mother board of types. This is my worst subject when it comes to scrapping so I have no idea what its worth.

I was really shocked how heavy the glass and door was.

I would leave the glass door on unless your yard says no glass.

Where are you getting copper from a stove? Stripped wires? You might have a pound of ins wires unstripped.

.30 for fan motor. Curious where the 3$ of #1 is coming from. I've scrapped more than a few stoves and there's not a pound of #1 plus motor.

Stripping wire and motors will bring #2.

not worth it to me but thats just my opinion
