e waste scrapper job in MO

Well I'm fairly new at this and have never messed with e waste scrapping. Well my dad is an Ag Loan officer at a bank, and his bank is getting rid of some old electronics along weth the local hospital. Most of their waste consist of computer towers, monitors, tv's, and microwaves from my understanding. They currently have some guys looking to haul and scrap the equipment for $700, as in the bank and hospital is having to pay them to take it. So dad told me about all this and asked me if I'd want to try to get the junk to scrap it along with him. He has a little pull as he is the branch manager.Does this sound like something I could do? Where are some scrap yards that buy e-waste in Missouri? I know my local yard doesn't take any. How time consuming is it to dismantle a computer? Your replies would be appreciated!

Just keep reading. If your dad has the pull to get the stuff, then just do it. Even if you don't have any yards locally for e waste take the boards and small stuff and ship it to one of the buyers on the forum here. Just read and read and then read some more. A lot of good information here. Good luck and happy scrapping.

I can't help you where to sell your e-waste but google would be a good place to start, just google e-waste buyers in your area and see what comes up. Go ahead and get the stuff and brake it all down and then you will know if it's worth it to you or not. The hardest thing is going to be getting rid of the crt tubs out of the tv's. Once you do one or two computers and you see how they come apart it will only take a few min. You might make a few misstakes at first but that's how we all learn. Good luck and let us know how things turn out for you. You never know it might turn into something big.
