Yet another Degaussing strip tip ( Method # 479.5 )

After accumulating a number of degaussing cables, and attempting several somewhat awkward approaches to stripping them, I was considering ripping a V-groove into a 2x2/2x4 about 3 ft long, hanging it on the wall, and using a clamp at the top to hold the cable.
Here's a simpler method, running a screw into a corner stud, and just putting a bend in the cable at the top to hold it on the screw. It's working great so far, and the plastic wrap I hung last fall in the workroom makes the cutting go that much smoother. The cable stays right in the corner and makes cutting the wrap a snap.
One thing I'd suggest if you try this method, be careful where you have your other hand while cutting ; )

Do you loose alot of time when transitioning, hanging, from wire to wire? Seems like it would work well. I guess the method I've come to use is with a mallet. Flaten out the degausssing wire by hitting it, and use a box cutter knife. By being flat it prevents the blade from slipping off. Also, pressing too hard causes much more work and slipping. You only need a tiny amount of pressure to cut through the slim tape.

I didn't try flattened but that would help. I did wind up cutting the smaller ones on the worktop, and flattened would be good there. Today I stripped a bunch of old battery cables and just did em on the work bench.
Hanging in the corner worked good, but needs a plastic corner angle about 3 inches on each side and 3 ft or so. It keeps them in place and saves having to flatten them to keep it lined up.
Thinking even now on a good flattening process though, how do you flatten yours ?
