    copper wire

i got a piece of copper wire in a really big pinkish/red plastic cover it said 3.0 gauge copper and it was attached to a metal thing made of brass posibly. the end of the wires were put into some kind of cap thing that was clamped i think to something at one point. i couldn't use a wire stripper i had to use a box cutter and it was really hard plastic to cut i was wandering if anyone knows what type of wire that is and what it would come from? the wires were all bare and twisted together not small like the household fiber wire.

Kind of sounded like something from a car audio setup. They use large wire to power those big amps.
And some of the misc. items used are gold plated brass.
