    IDE cables data

    All,

Today I grabbed 1250 grams of IDE cables, and removed all the components, including the connectors, the steel, the plastic, and any slots on them, also the cables, so here is the break up:

Total lot of mixed IDE cables: 1250 grams ( 2.75 lbs )
    Steel ( iron ) : 350 grams ( 0.77 lbs )
    Plastic : 150 grams ( 0.33 lbs )
    Slots : 100 grams ( 0.22 lbs )
    Cables : 300 grams ( 0.66 lbs )
    Connectors ( including steel and plastic covering ) : 350 grams ( 0.77 lbs )

Now I have read somewhere that a kg of connector pins would yield 2-6 grams of gold, so it is a good investment to keep them separated from the cables.

    Thanks and regards,
    Kevin
