I have seen people fab up a nice table to lay parts on to drain oil and other fluids. It is usually fairly small like 2 foot by 2 foot maximum and has a top made from expanded steel and it all funnels into a 5 gallon bucket underneath.
Back where I lived before there was a local auto parts store that had a designated day every month to take all of this stuff free.
When I lived on the farm growing up we poured out the old oil around fence posts. It killed the weeds and protected the posts from moisture. I am not recommending this, but I'll bet that there are some old time farmers that still practice this.
