    what would you charge

So this guy has a lot of scrap he wants moved. Basically I would be driving 8 miles to the yard and 8 miles back. He wants my truck and a 16ft trailer and me of course I figure it woukd take about 5 trips maybe less and would only be 6 hours ish. I've never had a job like this before and need some input. Oh and I wouldn't really have to load anything they have forklifts for that

Do you get to keep the money for recycling the metal? That would factor into the fees. Type of metal depends as well. Is it shred, prepared #1steel, aluminum, mixed?

if they have machines to load it depending onthe weight....i just did a clean out for a guy that paints hot rods, i paid 300, he loaded everything with a bobcat. made 900, 600 in my pocket for driving around. if he wants some money out of it and were talking few thousands pounds i wount go less then %60, i charge 40/60 an hour just for me and my truck, plus 2.50 a km.(mile). Stuff needs to be sorted, and im sure there will be things that can be striped for extra cash so your going to have to get your hands a little dirty. you get rid of his junk and he makes 40%. maybe you'll get lucky and get to pocket it all...

go to walmart and get a receipt book, that way you keep the yard receipt and he get a copy from you. and he can't come back 2 days later thinking you ripped him off.

do it up make it look professional and your going to make money for just driving around lol

this is his job that he is scrapping the metal I have a bigger trailer and he wants my help in that way. he's scrapping what he can get in his truck and I'm just hauling what I can he says he needs the tickets back for some reason and he also mentioned he has already made his money back. so he's basically just renting me and my rig
