Key Fob Remotes save them good money!

Found a guy out of Florida that buys key fob remotes working or not!

he pays $4-5 for import fobs I assume domestic is around the same he did not give me a price on those and he pays $10-20 for smart key fob remotes. I had 23 honda remotes yesterday and walked away $115 richer! Another up side is he travels a good distance to buy them. He is from Miami and came all the way up to Knoxville, Tennessee to buy them from me and others in the area and was heading to Indiana after he met with me.

Don't know if I'm allowed to post his business and phone number or not but anyway thought I would share this new find and will pm anyone his info that wants it!

Well I had to crack an old one open that I had laying around. Its from a 2001 Ford key fob. Nice little board with decent gold plating. If he is buying them for that then he id losing money. Did he say what he does with them?

I'm not sure. He isn't recycling them though so he is getting some type of use out of them some how. He talked about the tousands and thousands of brass, brass/nickel keys he just throws away and my jaw dropped. lol

My bet is he has a dealer reprogrammer. If so, he can reprogram working ones and sell them. Those things are not cheap to replace, so a spurce of used ones I am betting still goes for quite a bit EACH.

Edit...just did a quick search for replacement car fob...hondas start at $60 and then like lexus run upwards of $170. So I am laying money that is what he does with them...reprogram and resell.

I would think that getting a Buyers Thread going here for him would be a cheap investment.

Thats what im gonna try and buy them for. Gonna try calling local wrecking yards. Im sure they just leave them in the cars when they crush em.

Most of mine came from people leaving keys behind at our shop. We leave them for a few months, if nobody claims them, they go into the scrap bucket.

I emailed him and also one place out of Neb. that advertises. Nothing from him but got an email back already from the place in Neb. They don't pay to well but better than nothing. And they have the same pay options.
Next day service on the email at least,,, I'll forward the info if wanted.
