Does anyone strip aluminum wire, or just turn it in as insulated?

Do they buy ins Al wire? it really doesn't go with insulated copper. I've been tossing what I get aside, wondering your same question I guess. It certainly doesn't seem worth stripping, since most of what I see is Al degauser cables

My yard does buy Insulated Aluminum Wire and I want to say the price was about what you get for Aluminum Breakage.

Goes for .25/# to .30/# & depends if its all aluminum or if there is one steel strand in the middle.
Degaussing wire does not have steel in it. Personally, as easy as it is to strip I'd go ahead and clean it up for the better price.
My yard take it clean as old sheet.

Op didnt mention deguassing wire, so i assumed he was talking about thicker aluminum. I was speaking of the thick aluminum cable with black insulation. I didnt even think of deguassing wire. To me the aluminum conductor cable is the only aluminum worth stripping. But it will have a steel strand in the center sometimes.
