dramatic difference between 3rd and 4th gen cpu

don't know it this is true of all cpus and this is a little premature but will post pics when I'm done.

went through about 40 lbs of cpus today and discovered some interesting stuff.

maybe some refiners will chime in here. (hint hint Noble).

there was a discussion about decapitating cpus the other day, here is what I found.
every type is different. weight of cap/weight of green fiber etc, in any case there is a lot of math involved as to which to decap and which not to for maximum profit and, is it worth it.

basically common sense apply (there's those words again) if the chip has a small cap I remove it, if it has a large one I leave it , it is not worth the effort or time.

However the most interesting thing I found was the amassing amount of gold content in a pin less Sun spark aultra111. (will post pictures later) and the lack if the gold content visible in the Sun spark ultra 1V. maybe some one can explain this.

the big sun spark pin less 3 appears to have as much gold contend as the 386/486.

    just an observation.

Any Sun Sparc chips sell good on ebay,
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Thanks for posting Olddude. I did the same thing a few weeks ago and came to the same conclusion, take off small caps. You're right, it is too much trouble to remove the larger ones for the small gain you might get. Even if it's a small cap and it gives me any trouble, it gets chunked back into the "dirty" pile.

All caps get removed. Caps will go into bin to be sold weekly to keep $ coming in. The chips are hoarded/saved until the price to sell is right. Just how I do it.
