ABS Printer Plastic Processing

Currently my company is separating the plastic from printers and running the plastic with screws and other metals through a shredder and separated with a magnet some small metals still get through like the aluminum stuff. We have had to bale our plastic and have only been getting $.15 per pound in the Massachusetts area. This price is much less then I was originally hoping for. We process about 30k lbs a month of printer plastic. What I would like to do in order to increase the profit margin is to granulate the plastic and separate it by color does any one know what kind of prices I may get by doing this?

.15 per pound is pretty darn good. We have a few buyers here in the 5-10 cents per pound range. In my neck of the woods you would have better luck trying to sell flaming turds than computer plastic.

Thanks Mechanic I will try searching for that tomorrow. I have not had much good luck finding buyers for that type of plastic so far.

In the Portland Maine area I have only found places that will take it off your hands and say thank you for dropping it off. I would be satisfied if I could get .05.
