He might have been sarcastic. I was tired and hoping he would take it. Sad when you are hoping someone will stop by and remove perfectly good scrap. I understand, and agree with the "scrap removal is free, demolition is not" theory. I get people (who know I scrap) all the time who want me to remove there chain link fence (concrete posts and all), or satellite dish, or clothes line posts, or old deep freezers, etc. for just the price of the metal. They "think" they are doing me a favor. Its not worth my time and there is huge potential for damage to property. This is a little different in my book. We have gutted this down to studs. The water heater/boiler probably has $100 in copper piping with it. Even with the depressed prices that the yards are paying, he probably would have walked away with $300-$500 cash.
Oh well. The furnace has been removed. Boiler we will haul out in the morning. We will get paid for it when we haul it in.
