    Circuit breakers

    Hello

What should I do with my circuit breakers?

    Break them up for copper?

Don't want to resell on eBay

Think there is liability with sale if something goes wrong

    Thanks

Buyers only have 45 days from payment date to open a claim
Once that date passes >> Safe to spend the money

Before listing anything >> Be sure to check completed auctions to see if the item is selling for enough to make it worth while to list

Add type or name as needed to narrow your search

As an electrician by trade, I would not purchase used breakers. Nor would I recommend anyone else purchasing them, especially through a site like eBay or Amazon. I do think the reasoning behind this is obvious.

I have sold old old NOS circuit breakers on the Ebay.

All used get crushed for the silver.

In my opinion, breaking them down for scrap would yield very little for the amount of time it would take, but what your time is worth is different for each person. There are companies that will buy your old breakers & equipment (New and Used) and test and refurbish them. I rate them up there with the Cash for Gold guys when it comes down to what you will get for the units. Newer style common breakers won't yield a lot on ebay, but older, out of production styles can net you large profits. If listing on ebay or other sites, I would put in your listing that these are used untested units and that they should be checked by a licensed electrician before use. I am getting ready to list some myself that I've seen selling for $60-90 each. I'll try and remember to do a follow up post on how well they sold.
