Stripped wire waste disposal

I am seriously thinking about buying a wire stripping machine and was wondering what to do with the stripped insulation. Can it just be disposed of in the trash or is there somebody who buys the waste? I appreciate any help I can get with this question. I live in southern Ohio if that makes any difference in disposal options.

Biggest problem I've heard is plastic recyclers want similar material

You shoukd be able to sell to a plastic buyer as mixed plastic....just ask any plastic buyer you deal with what the plastic I sulation on wiring it graded. Then sell by the gaylord...all of that can be reground into items that co sistent color doesnt matter.

There are a few things you can do to minimize the environmental impact of wire stripping.
Here are three ways I recommend disposing of stripped wire:
1) Throw the stripped wire in your recycling bin.
2) Turn it into jewelry with an electronics craft project.
3) Give it to family, friends, or charity.

Option 1 is straightforward and safe for people with bare metal allergies who want to avoid touching metal during disposal! As long as our current infrastructure allows these materials to be recycled (which should last until 2050 at least), this is a great way to go green on electrical waste too. Just make sure the device(s) on which you're working has been unplugged from power.

You didn't mentioned:
4) Macrame.

In my case, I have to put it in the trash. The recycling sorting plant doesn't like string-like items on their conveyor and there's too many type of plastic used in the insulation to identify properly. Maybe if I sort them all by type and I deliver them sorted straight to the sorting plant, they would accept it, but I didn't had enough volume to check that solution. You can always call them and ask...
