As part of an auction I got a few HP xw4600 workstations with a core 2 duo running at 2.33, a 256 mb video card, and the monitors, mice, keyboards, ect. They came with the install disks (vista business) and they just need a hard drive and memory.

Keep in mind that the computers I already tore down covered the cost of the auction and I'm into the black about 400.00, so I'm not in a rush to move them (have 10 total, 3 up and running so far).

They use a sata hard drive and PC2 memory. Both are cheap. I could add a 80 gb hard drive and 2 gb of memory for just over 20.00.

These systems will support a quad core and up to 16gb of memory (as well as a bigger video card obviously).

Do you guys think it would be worth it to put the money in upgrading to a quad core and perhaps 6 or 8 gb of RAM before trying to sell or would I just be better off selling them as dual cores?

I might be able to sell them for more but it would cost me more to upgrade them. I would be willing to upgrade them if it ment they would sell faster.

Any thoughts................
