Need some help with computer boards

When I get computers and computer accessories, I take the boards out but I only get .20lb for them. I know there is a better way to make money on these boards. Any advice on this topic would sure be appreciated. I do very well on all my other scrap items, I get very good prices on those but the boards I get barely anything. I get the same price from boards from tvs as well.

That's where you need to #1- recognize the different boards so you can know their rough value. (not all boards are the same)
#2- After #1 then you need to accumulate enough that you can utilize some of our buyers for the best money.
Brown boards are usually sold at a local yard as there is not enough value to ship. Some of your .20 lb boards might
be 1.00 -3.00 lb boards, knowledge is money.

Please do, we like pictures! If you need a hosting site to make it easier to post them, I like imageshack, but there's a bunch of free ones out there.

I look forward to the pictures.

Yeah, your losing money big time, as stated above, save up around 65 lbs of motherboards (hopefully green ones) minus the cpu and heatsinks and batteries and send it in for a worthwhile payday.. Repeating above again knowledge is power. Good luck!

gunslinger, before I joined this forum I never knew about boards, could kick myself how much money I literally threw away turning everything in as low grade.

lets say we go by the 65# as suggested- my yard pays 10 cents a lb so, thats only $6.50 vs over $100.00 + you can make on boards sending them to someone here depending o what you have!

I concur with what everyone else is saying. Stockpile any boards that come out of an actual computer tower are worth considerably more then .20 a lb save them up adn contact a buyer from the site

I send in the green ones from flat screen tv's and printers/fax machines/copiers also. so, theres another source for green boards too.

NA proves what I say a lot...don't assume when it comes to certain items. Flat Screen boards, are fun to get. Nice gold fingers, etc. Yea, it's not gonna let you retire but if you get them regularly enough you will be happy with the results. Specially if your one who saves them for refining, refines them, or sells them to those that do on ebay, amazon, cl, etc.

Just like routers/modems. Yep most are double sided green with no gold, but then you'll find ones like I did with a gps in it, an nice gold trim all around it, and other goodies on the board. One thing I've learned doing all this is....you can't count on everything being the same. Whether it's a cell phone, a house phone, a tv, a computer, etc. They can all vary.

I know folks who won't touch a (HDMI) projection screen tv, I'm ok with that, cause I like finding things like this..
