The funny part is that OS X IS Linux. I would put your Mac stuff on ebay, or if you are not sure about them, Craigslist. Even older stuff will sell. I just sold a G5 PowerMac on Craigslist for 100 bucks. Put some RAM in the mini and it should be good for a few hundred easily. I think they use laptop RAM.

They do use laptop ram and a sata laptop hard drive which I have, but I don't have an OS or any power cords/video cords/keyboard/ect.. so I would have to get an OS and the cords just to test the mini. That is where my problem starts. I know the IT guy that took it out of service. He said it worked, but there is always the chance that it didn't survive the trip home. Looking on Ebay, I'm still trying to figure out if the cost of the cords/keyboard/ect.. would eclipse the value of the whole system (as crazy as that sounds).

Any apple products we see are easily sold to buyers for more than scrap value. Where are you. If your near any major city post a Cl ad. You will be shocked what people pay for broken apple stuff.

I mean compared to the usual escrap.

Also barter this apple stuff. When I get broken iPads I can trade on for 4 of the others. What I like are thr hp touchpad. These just a battery failure and appear to be bricked. $15 fix or free. They area nice pad when you install android or cm10!!!!

Resale on Cl or the bay is $100 to 150 all day long. Just for a 30 dollar iPad trade. Go get 4 of these. All these touchpads have bricked. It's just battery charge controller issue. This is a great way to make serious $$ for you guys with the smarts.

I did a few and it's fun. Try it!!

Ya back on track apple has a cult following.

No. OS X is based on Unix as is Linux. They're just both based on different flavors of Unix. Nitpicky, I know, but accurate.

And Mac's hold their resell value well, it might be worth doing a clean install of OS X on the desktop and seeing what you can get for it.
