    How I strip wire

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I use a flaring tool which already has holes in it and I place a razor blade in between and tighten down the clamps. Then I put the flare tool base in the vise. Works really well and it's cheap and easy to get one. The wire in the picture was fairly decent size multiple twisted aluminum wire. Insulation was hard plastic.

Anyone know what grade that is? Thick aluminum wire that's twisted multi strand? Stripped of insulation it's about the thickness of a pencil.
