    Don't Talk Business in Public

A man called me to come clean out his dad's estate stuff for various prices; a trailer load of misc. from a couple buildings. I saw him in the coffee shop in our small town and made mention that I'd be down to look it over. Another friend got in on the conversation and asked what he had. Umm...okay? The seller was willing to deal with whoever and we all ended up at the residence. Maybe I wouldn't have bought that steam cleaner for $100 like the other guy offered, or that parts cleaner for $20, but.....but......

After the fact, the steam cleaner needed another $200 to fix the locked up electric motors. A minor consolation, but "You can use it anytime you want to" helps.

Confidentiality and secretism is a trait that I need to learn. Well I think I already have.

Yeah there is only one other scrapper I share anything with, and that is because he is absolutely a stand-up guy and we work well together on larger projects. I have learned that almost anyone you teach will become your competition, and I have enough competition already. Not trying to be rude or say I don't want to help anyone, just saying that I have to work hard to keep my little piece of the pie crust and I can't risk giving away all of my money.

I hope you make out okay on what you got. That was a good lesson learned!

Everyone I know is to lazy to do what I do.

I agree with everything but the sleep. I would not have time to enjoy the other two.

That stinks man.. but it is a lesson that nearly everyone learns.. and a mistake they generally only make once!
I have a guy that puffs out his chest at me all the time "Yeah well that will be the last car you get around here- you just wait until my brother gets out of prison" (No I'm not making this stuff up) He gets honked off every time I pull a car- even though he doesn't have a trailer to haul cars with (go figure) He is constantly asking me if I have anything in the works.. I like to toy with him because of his arrogance.. I say "Yeah I got a line on a such and such" He'll say "Yeah.. where is it at?" I'll tell him the town name.. or make up another one.. I figure if he is so bad@ss at what he does.. he won't need my little morsel of goodness.. I'll just keep that close to the vest!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
