has anyone sold phones to businesstelephone.com?

They put a bid in for close enough to fair market value for the phones I picked up at auction.

Wanted to know if anybody has dealt with them. Any recommendations to any other commendable honest businesses would be appreciated.

Any tips to ensure that I do not get screwed over? I have minimal investment into them, but would like to not lose money on the deal.

What I have:



- 7 qty. T7316E Nortel (All handsets, all risers, missing some cords from phone to handset)
- 19 qty. T7208E Nortel (1 broken LCD, missing one riser, 15 handsets, some cords)
- 9 qty. M7208 Meridian/Nortel (Norstar) (All handsets, All risers, most cords)
- 5 qty. Toshiba DKT3020-SD (all handsets, no cords, came out of dusty environment)
- 1 qty. Lucent 8110M (handset, no cord)

There are several buyers on here for cell phones. Not going to mention any specific, but check out the buyers section. U will find compariable and competetive pricing

After reading parrot's post I went back and read the op post again. The first time I didn't even look at the models he posted, sorry bout that. Guess I need to remove my foot from my asprin. I just looked at the link parrot posted and looks like some good info. I would deffentally do some research and research ur buyers as well. I think there is some good turn around to be had. Please keep us updated as I would like to know the turn out. Never really delt with phones. Maybe some info to store away for future use. Also let us know of buyers cause I personally never really heard of anyone specificly dealing with phones

Nortel, Cisco, and Avaya, VOIP or Not, usually sell pretty well on ebay. Provided they are newer models. I've sold a lot of the T7316E, which still sell pretty well and often, considering they are an older model. Make sure you take the time to test them. Personally I also always cleaned them as well. Make sure you take a couple nice photos (regardless if your going to sell in a lot, or individually). It makes a difference on how fast and how much you are going to make.

I am trying to stay away from eBay. I did my calculations for what to reasonably expect for revenue on the phones, their bid was within $150 of expected profit for untested phones.

factor in time to list, package, ship, and potentially deal with a dead phone to a buyer... and it's not worth it.

they offered me $605 for all phones in working condition. I am waiting on a few more questions to be answered (via email). I want them to send me back any of the phones that test bad (if any do) so I know they aren't trying to pull the wool over my eyes.

I would say not bad for a $36 investment.

boxed up into two boxes, at my employers shipping dock (discounts are nice). Should be to them early next week. they pay Net 1 so should be quick turnaround.

$36 for $605 is a good profit still but took about $1000 loss there but im guessing your time is better spent on higher value items since I hear that all the time on here so for that 2hrs at most even high or drunk and taking all day like 8hrs to do it your must have wanted to process those 50 computers you got in worth your time that day to do and not the phones

I just don't want to spend my evenings listing things on eBay.
if I can make 2/3 my profit with 2 hours of work, vs 20 hours to make that last 1/3...

if I didn't have a steady income and steady work, I'd probably be listing them. but that is not the case.


Next time I get a batch I'll let you buy them from me so you can make that "$1000 extra profit"

that's why I have an employee to do the things I do not want to like tear apart hard drives i mean if anything you could have paid who ever uncle bob or cousin jane even a homeless man $100 and a good case of beer and still made $860 more profit this business is about maximizing this to the full I am all about making a quick profit but not taking a 70% loss people are always saying on here its not worth there time but thats the thing we only get this stuff because it was not worth someone elses time to sell it so if your going to buy this and sell it why not sell it for the most you can cause ebay is widely used but its only one place. so if its not worth your time then of course they are thousands of other people who would truly fight to sell this for you for $100 and that's a bigger number a lot would do it for just $20 cause its easy to do and not some slave labor thing. I pay my employee $10hr and I have 8 other people who want to work for me but I cant hire them until I expand which I will soon do and then I not only will be able to offer them $15hr but benefits as well or something I hope better than Obama care

Good grief. Use some punctuation, or know what the return button is. I can barely read your rant.

If you don't like what I'm doing, offer to buy next time. I'm not hiring someone to do something for me I do in my spare time. If you can't understand bending over a dollar to pick up a dime, you might want to reconsider hiring 8 more people. Cash for minimal work>slightly more cash with a lot more work.

I'd like to know your breakdown as to how you are getting $860-$1000 lost profit out of my 41 phones.

got an email from one of the employee's I've been working with, she said check has been paid and is on it's way to me. Hopefully I'll see it by the end of the week. Should be paid in full.
