I hope Bear won't mind me answering your question about which buttons. We talked about them some time back and I've been saving them ever since. They are the push button type switches behind the plastic buttons on your TV. They are about 3/8 inch square with a small button in the middle. The four corners have what seems like a small plastic pin holding the cover on. It's easy to get pliers on the cover and pop it off revealing a gold plated convex disc. This is actually the contact for the switch.
