What great photos and ideas! The bags look wonderful.

I'd love to see what other people do to store their parts. I have been pulling plastic containers out of my recycling bins lately to store little bits of things - I like the idea of transferring things to larger containers when the smaller ones get full.

That is GREAT!! You just motivated me to get my messy butt in gear! Great ideas. Post some more pics!

Trimming gold fingers has never been easier. Using a paper cutter works best for me.


Got this Idea from mechanic688 a while ago. Hang mylars on a nail out of the way somewhere.


My wire stripper mounts to my workbench. I feed the wire in through a hole from the bottom.

These boxes from Costco fit about 75 hard drives each and stack easily. Once they are full I break em all down.


Before I bought my wire stripper I used this all the time. (Still do with certain wires.) Its a 2x4 connected to a STURDY shelf. Feed the wire through the back, set the screw to cut the insulation, grab wire with pliers and pull. Sometimes you have to put your foot against the shelf for leverage on big wires.

This was from some kind of disc maching 1981 IBM is all I could read on it.
Someone had taken it completely apart, maybe trying to repair it.

I have the same wire stripper you have. Never hooked up a drill to it, hows that work for you? I was going to take a sewing machine apart and use the motor/foot pedal combination. Really don't strip that much wire, but I still want to try the sewing machine idea.

I always use a drill. You can control the speed. Hooking a motor up to it might not work, because its hard to set the blade perfectly. Using a drill, I often have to stop to reverse or re-adjust. If you try a motor and it works well, let us know.

The whole thing looked like a prehistoric cd player. Kinda cool, I wish it was whole, and worked. But It wasn't, so I scrapped it.

Its all computer shells, a few powersupplies, and a door. Lots of the computer shells are stuffed with CD drives and PSU carcasses.
