Hey, is anyone getting over $2 a pound for brass anywhere in the South? I have been stock piling over the last month and did not realize how much brass I actually come across. I put a lot more attention on copper for obvious reasons, but I guess I need to diversify my time.

I think its $1.50 in Greenville SC right now. Brass is my favorite bc of weight. It adds up quick.

I love Brass as well...good weight, fairly easy to find and always around $2 a pound here.

Brass is probably my second favorite behind converters. It pays less than copper per lb, but brass seems so dense, I've actually broken the handle out of a five gallon bucket

An it's in so many places. I love when I find it. Water heaters make me giggle if the brass is still there. No idea why just makes me smile.

Sold 24.65 Lbs. at $1.95 (yellow) yesterday. I like red brass even better $2.05 a pound.

That pressure valve when located up high and on the side makes a great handle too when moving around on a Dolly.

I stand on the scale at the yard and ask the girls how much they are paying for BS, so far they have determined I'm not worth paying for
I guess I need to check shipping costs. Brass is only $1.40 in my town. I wonder if flat rate shipping boxes would hold enough to make it worth it. I'll have to check that out and get up with someone in a good price state.

Brass is the sneaky item - -
many of us think - copper - copper - and the brass is put on the back burner , possibly due to dismantling of items (lamp parts steel parts )
YET one day you realize Wow I have a lot of Brass .
Beware of sticky fingers wile you collect and save another person could take from your stash
and go unnoticed
Pound for pound with size it's very valuable ,
Also price fluctuation seems more stable like Aluminum

People today wax nostalgic over grandma's lost silver settings. Someday people may reminisce about grandma's old brass. Funny how eager some people are to disgorge themselves of the the 70's to 80's brass decor fad.
I get a lot of decorative brass statues, vases, and candle holders. Bulky, but happy to have them. Picking brass from escrap and gas/plumbing fixtures is slower but some serious mass can build up. Always happy to add to my bucket.
