question about cable in samsung tv

I went and collected my bins at thrift store i work with and got a 32 inch samsung tv newer box tv. I looked to find answer to my question but, i have found nothing. I could have over looked it. The degrauseing cable that is wraped in tape. They are usually on most tvs straight copper. This one is a red painted color on surface and is color of aluminum or silver on insude if you cut in half or scratch it. My question is have any of u smf vets came across this? Do i just throw it in scrap aluminum bin. It is also non magnetic thanks yall.

Yes some are aluminum...besides color, the weight/density should be noticeably different.

The bright red coating is the key that it's aluminum.

    My humble opinion...
If you get more, separate them

If you only have a small amount, throw it on top of your scrap aluminum pile

Many tv's have aluminum cables. Ask the people at the yard you use if they buy it as sheet aluminum, some do and some don't. CRT monitors all have copper cables.

question about cable in samsung tv

i dont even scrap the aluminum degaussing i donate it to curbco. then again i bring in a lot of scrap on my week off. all a question of what your time is worth. all aluminum here goes in same category as "mixed" at .25 a pound so i have no idea what a big yard would grade it as we are kindof being screwed in the price department here in carlsbad.

My yard buys it as triplex. Very cheap.
