I picked up my thrift store haul today. I got like 2 foldavle scooters like a razor scooter. One is aluminum other is steel was magnetic. When i scrap them what all needs to be done? Do i just take off grips and broken wheels? Do i need to remove stickers of product name. Do you all cut them in two pieces.

If their like Razor's really nothing to remove but wheels, grips, an brake line..? Been awhile since I dealt with a Razor, can't remember if they have the cable brakes like bike, or not.
No need to remove stickers or name. Unless your yard is very picky...If i had to remove such things, I'd find me a new yard. Ha ha!
I used to sell Razor's when they first came out, when I worked for Toys R Us. lol. Those things let me experience some really rude shoppers!

Hey Johny, does the scooter look like this?
You said foldable, so thinking this style, an not one of the electric ones correct? If you got a foldable with the big wheels, you might be able to leave the..'rims' heh. An just remove the rubber on teh wheel. If the one i pictured, I would think just take the wheels off. If going for clean alum, remove all magnetic stuff, so you get clean price. Stickers an such shouldn't matter. Lest at my yard it doesn't.
Edit: Also the hand grips, the plastic piece at the bottom, an not sure on the foot area. Be best to call your yard on that part. If your going for clean alum. That's what i would remove. An check those rivets/screws at the bottom. If steel your going to want to remove those to. If it looks nothing like the one I pictured...i dunno. lol.

I only remove grips and obvious metal. Forget rivets and wheels. Still sheet. It's a ok that. Type item . 5% steel ok. Find the limits. It pays the same. Scrap. Lol.

If it's alum, it pays to remove the rivets. Lest for me.. .55lb vs .09It takes no time, with a grinder, or drill.
Of course if it's steel you can just leave it all.

With aluminum some steel is ok. Like screws or broken glass. A little is OK ...watch others sell and how. I have never bust a rivet because it's steel through aluminum. Never will since 2006.
Aluminum was my staple a few years. Just be 10% clean. Now stainless the last few years became 75% more strict. Just the scrap trend.

Also if sold as is no alterations it's dirty aluminum.
Now watch the fine line. Less steel is more clean but not clip or extrusion.

yeah looks alot like pic but called a daredevil. i think rivet are stainless shiny non magnetic well see how hard to remove thanks for answers guys

I forgot. With hammer I beat the steel to pop the rivet then slide off steel part. Same with potty chairs and walkers . Wack Wack slide. Technical precision strikes.Like a ninja.

My yard it always matters when trying to get clean on that stuff. I go through it yearly with beach chairs. Heh.

If their still useable you could probably resell them on CL. My buddy here on the sandbar, his boy just loves the hell out of his.

i am going to resale one of them wheels are decent and stopper is gpod too. others are worn out one looks like they rigged the wheel to stay on lol

Johny, if you take them apart, the large bottom section goes in your extrusion bin. the handle (if aluminum) goes in your clip bin if you get all the steel off or into your aluminum bin if you don't.
I do remove the wheels using two allen wrenches.
You might spend a couple extra minutes breaking those down but its worth it.
If you turned it in as is it would go as Irony aluminum and thats only around 15 cents a lb vs 50 cents and more on your aluminums
