    Useful smartphone apps

After looking over some old threads I thought a decent list of good smartphone applications would be of some use. I'm always looking for new ones ,paid or free. Anyway here are some I use often
SMF- some kind of forum, maybe some good info free
Coinflation- Most geared twords coins however there are scrap silver and gold calculators. Very useful for sterling. Free
GPS Essentials- For when google maps is not enough. You can mark points by latitude and longitude and track routes. Free
Timesheet- A decent time card and hours tracker. I use it daily to keep my day job hours and my own business hours. Has the most features of the free versions I have tried. Plus the easiest for me to operate. Free with paid available
Magnifier- turns your phone camera into a magnifying glass. All these apps are buggy but this one seems to be the best. Free
Ebay- hands down the fastest way to check the "more than scrap price".

I don't have any skin in the game with these companies just hoping to share some useful tools.

Thanks. Just downloaded Magnifier on my Samsung. I like the fact that you can also turn on the phone's flash to illuminate whatever you're looking at.

    Useful smartphone apps

I think the fact you can take pictures while magnifed is sweet, but after the 300th time dropping my phone it stopped working.

Awesome thoughts. I just downloaded Magnifier too. It's not as good as my loupe, but at least it will always be on me.

Not for scrapping, but you guys could take a look at my app if you wanted: RunPee. Tells you when to take breaks in the movies in the theaters, so you don't miss anything important. 99 cents for a lifetime purchase. </shamelessplug>

...runpee. Ha ha. I'm down loading that to my wife's phone once it gets smart. lol.

Thank Jilly, I'll be sleeping on the deck for sure after that.

An..my suggestion..Kitco's app for those that watch the price of metals. I use it mainly for Gold, silver, an the other good stuff. It also has copper, and all the others.

    An it's free.

Sirscrapalot - Doesn't use a lot of apps on his phone...Kindle is another story.

You forget the most important ones. If you're gonna go as far as track your hours, why not track your money, you not doing this for free, are ya? You need kitco or scrap metal forum to stay up on prices. As a scrapper, the price of non ferrous should be most important to you.

I use a couple different metal weight calculators, pics of them on patriots water tower project. Kelley blue book is ok to give you a price on a junker you want to sell as a project(not full value of course, but it's nice to know what they can get for it after repairs). The weather channel, and of course coin dozer
