Good bit set for small work especially hard drives...

Second thing...can any of you gamers out there figure out what picture of a game is on the mousepad? (its not a too distant expansion...hint)

Here's my favorite precision screwdriver set:



Bought a few weeks ago on Amazon for $11.42 (free shipping). The quality of this set is surprisingly good. I'd be happy even if I'd paid much more for it. The bits really hold up well (chrome/vanadium steel), and it's hard to find something on a computer that one of these bits won't fit.

Btw, on Amazon it's called "Sourcingbay 45 in 1 Precision Screwdriver." I don't think this is the same set that you see all over eBay. It's a different manufacturer.

harbor freight has several for under $7. my gripe is the low torx ones under t5 strip down easily. I dont know a way to buy replacement bits. I just need to replace those more often.

Here is the one we use, I have bought two of these, and while the small torx do strip occasionally they are cheap enough to buy a couple sets. These work perfect for throwing in a drill and doing hard drives or HP/Compaq servers that have the torx everywhere.

4barrel, Amazon said this product "Usually ships within 1 to 3 months" I guess it is a real chicken or egg debate. They need you to ship the hard drive parts so they can melt and make the torx bit set you need to take apart the hard drive

I just saw this thread...OP if your still out there...was the game, World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria?

I use a similar set from Wal-Mart right now. The bits are decent, but I hate the "ratcheting" driver. It's sturdy enough, but the ratcheting mechanism gets in the way. I have a regular driver on order.

Mine came from China, and took about three weeks. They were about $0.99 each, so I ordered 10. I've taken apart a good 200 hard drives so far, and am only on the second T-5 screwdriver (My first one is floating around the office somewhere).

The Chinese T-5 screwdriver seems to be pretty sturdy for me. The T-9 from Wal-Mart does well, too. I haven't used them in a power drill yet, though. That could get interesting real quickly!

My ifixit set has been great so far. I have abused it pretty badly, and they haven't stripped yet. Also, as a bonus, the set I got came with a tamper proof torx set, the largest of which allows me to take those two tamper proof screws off of a microwave. I think mine was $25 for 50+ bits. So far I'm very satisfied. If the bits start getting stripped, I won't be as happy, but so far the investment in quality has paid off.

1-3 months? not my type of set....

Mine still haven't stripped...Working great....except when I drop one behind the work bench!!! I need one of those magnetic reacher thingeys! lol...

I've used the Harbor Freight one and also their security bit set with great success, and quite frequently. As well, they have a multibit set of like 6" phillips and standard bits that are a LIFESAVER. If you get these three items, you can get darn near anything apart.

I wouldn't buy anything that could break easily or has a cord or battery at harbor freight. Their tools are good for someone who doesn't use them frequently but for how much I use my equiptnent I would rather spend the extra $ for a nicer set. I am thinking about purchasing the one in the picture, I often dig around for a long time before finding the right bit, a sorting case like that with everything in it is conveinent and as u said it works wwll
