Anything I Should Make Sure I Take Out of a 98 Lumina?

I'm finally getting a van to scrap out of and will be taking what I can from my 98 lumina before its towed to the yard. I have no knowledge of cars beyond how to change oil/tire and limited tools (wrenches, sockets, etc). I have read posts on what is there and was just looking for any tips/advice on what's easily removed without jacking it up or lifting the engine.

    Thanks in advance.

Anything I Should Make Sure I Take Out of a 98 Lumina
First thing I do is list on Craigs as Parting out 98 1998 Lumina

    Number 1 >>> The CAT

Then if you want to sell parts on eBay >> Check what has been selling >>
98 chevy lumina -film | eBay

I pull the easy to pull and easy to store and easy to ship parts >> IF they are selling for a decent price
If you have a place to pull parts (make a mess)
    Battery
    Radiator
    AC Condenser
All the copper wire you can grab in 10 mins
    Then move to the Dash
    Heater core
    AC heat exchanger
All the copper wire you can grab in 10 mins

Pull Aluminum rims if it has them

Once I load on the trailer for the trip to the squisher
    THEN, and only then
do I cancel the Craig ad

Thanks so much to both of you. Not that I don't trust the advice but someone saying it perfect gives me more confidence I can do it right.

What was your ad for? Selling the whole shebang for junk/parts?

Ah very nice. I plan to junk cars somewhere down the road (pun not intended...but I chuckled after I typed it) and this is definitely helpful!

Unfortunately I don't have the space to keep it for too long after we get the second van, so I was more hoping to just grab the easiest stuff. Also, it's in really rough shape from 16 yrs of use and me scrappin out of it (hehehe)

easiest way to do that is cut the fuel line under the hood (better then laying under the car and it still gets filtered) put a hose on it and put the other end right into your filler neck, then find the fuel pump relay and jump it so the pump does the rest of the work for you

I was actually gonna try to time it so that there was no gas left when I parked it but thanks for the tip. 1 week today and I should be able to get started. I'll let you all know how I do. Thanks again for the replies.

Yank any easily accessible aluminum on the motor as well like the intake manifold (at least the upper intake if it's a 3.1L or 3.4L), it's like 10 minutes or less with hand tools, even faster with a battery powered impact. Also grab the alternator if it's on top, you can sell usually sell it for motor weight or copper bearing scrap.

I'm a bit more greedy than some folks, I'll pull the engine for the pistons (and oil pan if cast), and pull the transmission to scrap the case and valve body. Also make sure I pull almost every scrap of wire out of it, then drag it on the trailer, remove any aluminum control arms, roll the windows down, and dump all the loose steel I've got into the interior. I'm typically not entirely in it for the money, but also for the reverse engineering to see how other people/companies make stuff.
