Ok guys lets post your metal recycling tools .

Of course I got a s10 pick up
A smart phone helps
Then I have 10 ratchet strips
A cordless sawzall
A cordless drill and impact driver
A power inverter to charge my battery's when at a job with no power
A mag lite l.e.d one is very bright

Tried to put together a tool box for scrapping needs. Never had the right tools. Then three tool boxes were created and still did not have the right tools. Then a trailer was built and loaded with scrapping tools, torches, welders, air compressors, and generator. Still never had the right tool. Basic scrapping tool is a leatherman and flashlight that has an extendable magnet on it. The answer might be to load up my shop on a semi and then I would still leave the tool I need at home.

Didn't realize there was a thread started already if the admin can put mine in the original one thanks and you are right you can never have enough tools

sense this thread is newer I am adding here. Maby Admin will combine them. The tire plug kit really is important.(from the old thread) I also carry a tiny 12 volt compressor. It takes a while to fill but beats changing the tire two times. once for the spare and later to put it back on. I've even been paid a couple of times plugging anothers tire. That pays for the whole kit. A digging pic gets me into any trunk I need to inspect. I like A hatchet when there are too many screws and it cuts wire or cable faster if there is something solid to strike against. I really liked my leatherman with carbide wire cutter inserts but there replacement inserts are steel so I may be going to Gerber in the future. I have magnets or magnet pieces in many handy places, mostly speaker magnets. The rear earth magnets tend to stick to some plating and stainless giving a false read. It's also difficult to identify carbide from hi speed steel with the powerful magnets. With the 4" adjustable in my back pocket and leatherman in holster and Harbor Freight flip screwdriver with two socket sizes when bits are removed I often don't need to reach for another tool for those dozens of small tasks dismantaling stuff.

Magnet is defiantly needed and yesterday I learned earplugs after cutting up a metal shed with the sawzall and my ears ringing for 20 mins afterwards I realize earplugs are important

You guys are all wrong. Your brain is your biggest asset, then come your hands. Many people don't use the first, then use the second too much on the wrong things.

I almost forgot, these guys have all the best tools you can never find.
